The Nest Bowl
Hand-thrown by David Šíla in Prague
For sea salt while cooking, rings by the sink, pistachios during calls.
David throws each piece on the wheel in his Prague studio, working with local Czech clay. He lines custom molds with paper—when the clay is pressed inside, the paper leaves delicate impressions across the surface. This technique is his, refined over years. Before the first firing, he marbles black and light clay together. The patterns swirl and settle differently every time.
Small batch - David creates 20-30 pieces monthly. If this sells out, check back early next month when David's new batch arrives.
David's paper-mold impression technique creates surfaces you won't find anywhere else. He throws each piece on the wheel in his Prague studio, pressing Czech clay into custom molds lined with paper. The paper leaves delicate impressions—textures impossible for machines to replicate. Before firing, he marbles black and light clay together. The patterns swirl differently every time. His multi-stage process—wheel throwing, clay marbling, bisque firing, hand glazing, final firing—takes days from start to finish. The weight feels grounding in your palm.
